The History of Center Lake Bible Camp
In 1954, a group of churches from the Michigan Baptist General Conference gathered together to purchase 40 acres of land outside of Tustin, Michigan, on the shore of Center Lake, with the intent of starting a Bible Camp. Those churches then committed to each building a cabin to house campers, and by the summer of 1956, Center Lake Bible Camp hosted its first group of young people.
Since that simple beginning, CLBC has added 80 more acres and an additional 35 buildings. It not only has added acreage and buildings, but it has also expanded its ministry. Center Lake Bible Camp is now open every day of the year and welcomes groups from all over the world. God has certainly blessed the vision of those early churches, and He continues to change lives through the ministry of CLBC.
